We are entering our first holiday season here at IF, and we’ve got a lot to celebrate. As I watched Rudolph on TV a few nights ago, I was reminded about a favorite element of this time of year. The music! I’m not sure if it’s the simple beauty of classic holiday songs, or the fact that we only hear them once a year. Whatever it is, music makes this time of year special.

Being able to write a good song is a gift, and we are ready to share a few songsmiths and their offerings with you. During the month of December we’ve got two events that showcase regional songwriters. Starting off on Dec. 16th, we are introducing a new songwriter series called Campfire Stories. We’ve got three great acts that will be doing acoustic performances:

– Jon Wilmot – frontman of Big Blue
Slow Low Crow – Dave Starling & J.T. Weir
– Kelly Chavers – frontman of Fake News, and guitarist in Whiskey in the Pines

As if having these awesome troubadours wasn’t enough, we will also be making s’mores outside by the fire in between acts. Come hungry for sweet sounds and sweet snacks.

Next up we’ll be sending off 2017 a night early with Graham Snuggs and friends on Dec. 29th. Joining Graham will be Jacob Hudson from Jacksonville, and Andrew Vinson.
