Art and politics may seem like they are on opposite sides of the human spectrum. However, if the art is music being created in your city, and the politics is a great guy and longtime champion of the community, they both become things that we support. During the month of May, we are focused on a few new studio projects, and a friend and hometown hero that is running for City Commission.
First off, we have two very talented and very different artist recording new music in the studio. Longtime local favorite songwriter and guitarist Pat Puckett is making new music, and you should definitely be excited. Pat has been continuously building a loyal fanbase for years, and is working on some classic sounding new tunes that we can’t wait to share.
Also recording this month are South Florida hip-hop duo Black Rose. These talented young guys have gotten a lot of attention with their collective Panther Party Pop on Soundcloud, and are recording their debut Black Rose release. Their music is original, fun, and full of colorful characters.
Lastly, we are super excited to be hosting a special music showcase and fundraiser for City Commission candidate Jeremy Matlow on May 19th. Jeremy has supported this community and been a role model and friend to local small businesses for a long time. We are happy to be able to return the favor. This event is expected to sell out, and a $20 donation is required at the door. Musical acts include Elizabeth Fravel (Adventures of Annabelle Lynn), David Lareau (Whiskey in the Pines), Jesse Corry, and Matt Stache.
